I can scan negative film without any problems the way I used to before the switch to Windows 10 - the Epson Scan software just doesn't let me switch to slide (or any other mode) and completely stops working once I try to change the settings (or close the preview window), that's what this is about. I already know that I should remove the cover from the top LED when I want to scan stripes of film, thanks Never used any buttons on the scanner except for the on/off-switch, but this probably has nothing to do with my software problem. Looks like I'll give another reinstall a try and make sure everything goes where it should. I hope you are successful in getting things working again.

Note that during the install of the new drivers, a restart of the computer is required. I did have to use the provided slide holder in order to get it to work, and remove the cover over the light in the lid, but all worked (in Home mode - I didn't try others) as it should.
